Technology and Power: Public Seminar | Thursday 6 May 2021, 1pm-3pm (BST)

https://youtube.com/watch?v=YWgjHUULtvE

Welcome to the first day of Technology and Power: Public Seminar.

Please read this important information about the event before we start:

– English closed captions are available for the event. You can enable them at the bottom bar of the video, by clicking ‘Subtitles/Closed Captions’.
– The seminar will be recorded and most of the talks will be published on our YouTube channel, but respecting the wishes of some of the speakers, a few of the talks won’t be shared afterwards. We will send you an email once the talks are published on our channel so you can re-watch and share.
– We’d like to encourage everyone who attends and is comfortable to do so, to engage in the YouTube chat -which is enabled for the session- or to share thoughts, reflections and comments on Sli.do. If you have any questions for the contributors, they will be present during their talk on the chat. Join the conversation on Sli.do here: https://app.sli.do/event/tycfjdpz

We are committed to create a safe space for folks to share and hold a conversation with respect. By joining the event, you are agreeing to follow the following Discussion Guidelines:

* Keep an open heart and mind to all discussions
* Racism, sexism, ableism, or any abusive language will not be tolerated
* Be mindful of sharing the conversational space
* WAIT: ask yourself, “Why am I talking?”
* Be mindful of inevitably present interpersonal power dynamics
* Prefer to use “I” statements and speak from personal experience
* Listen and be respectful
* Own the impact of your mistakes
* Reflect on which of these guidelines are easy for you and which are hard

Raise any discomfort you have either in the chat or to me and Georgina via email at cci@arts.ac.uk. A first incident will result in a warning, second in a ban.
