The #UnitedStates Senate has passed a $250 billion plan to boost investment in research and #technology, as it tries to counter #China’s growing influence in the sector. The package seeks to shore up development of artificial intelligence and quantum computing, while earmarking more then $50 billion for production of semiconductor microchips. The bill will now be debated by the House of Representatives. China has already responded to the vote, calling the draft law a “paranoid delusion”. #Business
